For years I had used an old Medion PC, about 10-12 years old for everything i needed a computer for.
I used it for gaming school work etc.,
It rocked proudly 2 whole gigabytes of ram, windows 7 an i7 either 2nd or 3rd generation and in total 700gb of disk space.
After having played with the thought of either trying to upgrade my current computer or buying/building a new one for a while, i woke up one Morning, seeing that windows 7 would lose its steam support on the 1st of January 2024. This was when I then actively started investing more recources than ever before into acquiring a new completely overhault Setup.
I saved up money, researched the best parts, switched back and forth between different build ideas until, after alot of procrastination, i finally ordered
the parts. A friend of mine said he could help me build it, since it was my first time building a PC and he himself said he was well versed in that topic.
We never came to an Agreement on when he could come over to help me and at some point, months later i just decided to ask another friend, the same afternoon we began working on building the PC.
He took hours to build, and when it was time to insert the GPU we came to the realization that the case i bought was too small.
A while later i bought another casing, not being confident in my own skills though i decided to not try to build it myself, out of fear id maybe do irreparable damage. The Case was an older modell, Big and clunky, but i was sure everything would fit into it this time.
A few weeks went by and My father offered to ask a friend of his if he could help me build it. This friend of his worked in IT and among other things did PC builds and repairs for work. He started building it, critiquing and pointing out many mistakes my friend did building the PC, while transferring everything to the new case and fixing the mistakes.
everything went well, until it was time to install the psu, the slot meant for it was the wrong size.
Weeks went by, again, and i ordered my third PC case. i measured everything out, made sure it would fit and waited. I got impatient at some point and didnt wanna wait for someone else to do it, so i decided to just do it myself.
i took about an hour and a half, built everyhing in the new case, set up windows and had my Computer ready at the end of the day. Its pretty awesome, but i do regret not just doing it myself earlier, it works completely fine, ive had no issues and had fun doing it. 10/10 would recomend
